Our philosophy
We prepare and produce high quality, ingredient based gourmet
muesli. We believe that taste is as important as nutritional value
and have set out to create a range of mueslis that show how very good breakfast
can be. Delicious, flavoursome dried Australian fruits,
hand cut nuts and high quality grains are hand mixed to produce breakfast
cereals that not only look inspiring but taste wonderful.
Presentation is also important Whisk and Pin products look good too.
We are not mass producers so our products have a distinctive home-made
quality. As a result, we know Whisk and Pin products look delicious, and
taste even better.
Our people
For
owner Kerry Caloyannidis, Whisk and Pin has been an idea in the making for
some years. After time off to raise four children, Kerry has
established Whisk and Pin in the beautiful Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
Kerry is a Pastry Chef. Her eclectic training includes classes at the Le
Nôtre School in Paris, and stints with Spago restaurant in Los Angeles,
and Roger Vergé’s Moulin de Mougin restaurant in southern France.
Kerry’s formative experience was in helping set up the La Brea Bakery
in Los Angeles, working with Nancy Silverton to develop the Bakery’s
range of natural sourdough breads. Kerry then continued as Pastry Chef at
Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton’s Campanile Restaurant in Los Angeles,
and later went on to be Pastry Chef at the Royalton Hotel in New York.
In Sydney, Kerry has worked as a Pastry Chef at the Rockpool and Bathers
Pavilion restaurants.
The Whisk & Pin team is made up of an eclectic mix of people, all Blue
Mountains based with a love of good food and loyalty to the Whisk &
Pin philosophy.
Our Products
Whisk & Pin produces hand made gourmet muesli
in the Blue Mountains of Australia.
Mountain Muesli Our signature muesli - deliciously crunchy
and nutty, and full of almonds and chewy cranberries. Serve with yoghurt
and fresh fruit; use as a sprinkle for extra crunch; or simply serve with
milk
Leura Natural Muesli A chewy, nutty, high fibre muesli in the
more traditional style. We use hand cut nuts and lots of grains combined
with Australian dried mango and wild figs. Sustaining and packed with goodness.
Summer Muesli A lighter cereal style muesli soft and full of
Australian summer fruits like pineapple, strawberries and apple. Not
too heavy, perfect for the warmer months.
Bircher Muesli Traditional bircher muesli with a twist. Luscious
and soft, low in fat with tangy lemon, barberries and Australian granny
smith apples.
Winter Porridge Warming winter flavours of peach, hazelnut
and cinnamon.
Gluten Free Muesli By popular request, and now our second highest
selling muesli. Light, crunchy and full of interesting and generous fruits
and nuts.
Rocky Road Muesli An indulgent and delicious multi grain muesli,
crunchy without nuts, a little Belgian chocolate and Australian dried strawberries.
